Most of the time, one would connect jewelry with wealth or financial status. This is normal since jewelries are of high value. Not everyone can afford to have jewelries in their personal belongings. Even in other cultures, this type of adornment speaks of wealth.

Whether as a symbol or gift, jewelries are offered as a dowry or good intent in weddings and engagements. It is also used as a form of trading and business dealings.

The purpose of jewelry is for beautification or display - nothing else. Unlike belts, buckles or pins, they are referred to as accessories and have functional purposes other than enhancing one's appearance.
